The Pistol Permit Class is a two night basic handgun safety course, and at $100.00, is the most affordable in the
area.
Classes are held on the first and second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm to qualify prospective shooters
to obtain a permit to carry a handgun in Connecticut.
The classes are conducted by Certified N.R.A.Instructors, and
stress safety while providing the basic knowledge and skills necessary for owning and using a handgun.
Applicants must be at
least 21 years old, and be able to lawfully handle hand guns per state and federal statutes.
Classes fill quickly. Students
must pre-register at least one week in advance, in person, and pay the course fee at the Club when staffed on Monday
or Tuesday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 pm or Sunday afternoons from 1:00-4:00 pm.
Home study materials are provided at pre-registration,
which must be completed before attending the first class.
It is recommended that students obtain the
forms for a pistol permit from their local police department and bring them to class if an instructor's signature is required.
Other training and instructional courses, as mentioned in the other sections, are conducted throughout the year.
